Should The US have Stronger Immigration Requirements for RESIDENCY?

I just moved back from the Bahamas where you have to either:

1) marry a bahamian
2) have a gig
3) spend $500k in the country, usually on a residence

If you don’t do either of these, you are basically ILLEGAL and able to sympathize more with immigrants as you deal with Immigration officials & all that treating you badly.

Or you can do what lots of expaites do, travel to Florida every few months and have your passport stamped for another few months when you arrive back on the island. It can be exhausting.

Do you think more people would “think twice” about moving to the US if our requirements for residency were stricter?

Absolutely right, we should have stiffer requirements for legal immigration and I also believe people would think twice if there were greater repercussions for invading illegally.
