PCI DSS is a compliance Visa have enforced Retailers to protect customer data, what Retailers are compliant?
How can we find out where it is safe to shop with our credit cards?
In theory: all of them, because it’s mandatory.
In practice: probably 80% of the large ones and 20% of the small ones. Unfortunately, as with all self-regulation, PCI DSS is not strongly enforced, and is just there to make consumers feel better.
