visa entry requirements

Is Turkey strict abt entry requirements concerning visa?

I saw that one of the entry requirements is: “Passengers without clean appearance and sufficient funds
will be returned by the carrier”.
I don’t have problem about clean appearance, haha, but just worrying over the sufficient funds part, my ticket is paid by my boyfriend there and I don’t know how much they mean by “sufficient funds”. Can someone who’s travelled there or elsewhere abroad tell me how much cash I should carry or will credit card be enough and will they verify my card? I’m sick with worry because I’m checking last min things and want to make sure I have everything. Thanks for all your help and replys!
I’m from usa visiting friends in adana tr. , last comment made me worry where they checked the friend abt her money, i wont be carrying too much cash and have credit/bank cards. Is this enough?

depends on where youre coming from

i guess, coming from countries like, armenia, georgia, most of middle east, bulgaria, eastern europe is risky when passing the passport control, cause many immigrants come by legal and illegal ways.

i guess you dont need a visa then youre not from these countries. from europe(other than eastern), us, canada shouldnt be that hard. if you have a clean appereance :D i just heard that now :D

well sufficient funds depend also, if youre a student nobody can expect 10000 euros from you, just enough for a vacation is ok… just an estimation but 1000 liras=500 euros would be fine for a week or two. they may ask if you have a return ticket, and where you’re going to stay. i’m turkish so didnt have a previous experience, but my friends from europe came and they were ok, they came for a conference program and showed the invitation letter

i went to europe for a conference and took the invitation letter, it worked. i didnt need a visa, so i didnt know what was going to happen at the gate..

and once it was for only vacation and in holland they didnt ask questions, i wondered why because of many low class turks in holland, but “clean appereance” is the key everywhere :D

they didnt ask anything at all in italy, i dont know why but they look at your face few times then let you pass…

i remember the belgian asked questions, which were stupid indeed. i’d expect exactly this behaviour from a french/belgian :D

also it’s a matter of luck a bit!

hmm from usa, with some money and credit cards, i guess you’ll be fine

i lived near adana, there’s a us base, guess you’ll see your friends from there..all these make sense.. there’s no reason for you to be refused

if you have time go to mersin, that city is nicer! :D
