Work visa to Permanent Resident in Canada, I live in the US?
Can I apply for a Canadian work permit then change it to a permanent resident visa under the skilled worker option? I don’t want to have to go back to the US once my work visa is up. If I apply for permanent residents while I’m there do I have to leave Canada then come back?
that’s doable. i’ve got 3 friends who are from the philippines originally. they entered canada on a work visa… and after 3 years, they applied for permanent residency. they stayed in canada the entire time… didn’t go back home to the philippines at all.
now one is a citizen already… and the other two are on their way to becoming citizens too.
