visa types in usa

I am in USA with B-1. It should expire soon. May I apply for new visa being in USA?
May I not rerturn to my country and apply for new visa staying in USA (same type of visa, or another type of visa – H1B, for example (if eligible)?

If you are in hospital with broken limbs you can get an exrension on your B-1 .. if not you must leave by the date on your I-94
you can always come back at a later date if you have not abused the system
You cannot apply for a H1B ..an employer must… you can only get the visa outside of the US
